Documentary Working Group

San Francisco, CA

Class meets five Mondays starting May 1st, 2006 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Fotovision board members Michelle Vignes and Kim Komenich have teamed up again to teach this popular two-phase workshop. “Digital Documentary” and the “Documentary Working Group” have been favorites with photographers who are looking to make the transition from film to digital, and with digital photographers who want to jump-start a story idea into a working project. This five meeting class is the second class in the series, but can be taken separately. Students must demonstrate competence, have a work-in-progress to show and must contact the Director before registering at info@fotovision.org.

This small group offers mentoring, critique and peer support. The group meets every other week over ten weeks in a casual, home setting with refreshments. It is open to students who have a work in progress, whether it be digital or film. This fun and supportive group will provide enough guidance and structure from class feedback and discussions so substantial progress can be made on a work-in-progress.

Read what a past participant had to say: "...it’s refreshing to have teachers who really take an interest in what you’re doing and will do almost anything to help you suceed.” J.S.

Special Pricing for the series: Students who register for both will receive a 15% discount, bringing the cost of two classes down to $587.

In addition, students who want to sign up for these two classes will be eligible for three $100 scholarships from Looking Glass Photo. If you are interested in signing up for both classes and applying for the scholarship please send an image you made with a 250 word statement about why you love that photograph to info@fotovison.org by April 21st. Your digital image should be a jpg so we can publish the winners' pix.

We will announce the winners on April 24th.

Priority and special pricing will be given to students who enroll for both.
