AAJA-SF Media Training For South Bay Community Organizations
San Jose, CA
Sep 23, 2006
As part of its outreach to the Asian American Pacific Islander community, the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association (www.aajasf.org) will put on a free media training workshop for small, AAPI-focused not-for-profit community groups and organizations based in the South Bay on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the San Jose Mercury News. There is a $10 fee to cover the cost of the lunch, which will be provided. The fee is non-refundable.
Coordinated by AAJA members Jessie Mangaliman of the San Jose Mercury News and Vanessa Hua of the San Francisco Chronicle, the workshop will include information on how newsrooms work and how participants can better articulate their message to the media.
Please apply for the workshop before Sept. 1 by submitting your information on the form available through
http://aaja.wufoo.com/forms/aajasf-media-training-workshop-sept-23-2006. We have space for only 30 not-for-profit organizations, with each group being able to send one representative. We will give priority to individuals from nonprofit organizations based in the South Bay and who were not able to attend the previous workshop. This training has consistently sold out in the past, so please register now.
This workshop is being organized with the outreach and volunteer assistance of First Thursdays, a monthly dinner series for those interested in Asian American and Pacific Islander community issues and service opportunities.
Instructions on how to submit the workshop fee will be provided after we confirm your reservation. Please email your questions to Keith Kamisugi at
