
Newsletter Writer and Editor

The Arthritis Foundation newsletter copywriter and editor will be responsible for collecting and communicating Chapter news and events through our bi-annual newsletter, Joint Efforts. The copywriter will work with the Community Development Manager to coordinate and write articles related to current news, events, and programs. Assist with layout and article ideas to keep newsletter creative and relevant.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collection of newsletter subject matter to develop and write articles for review and final publication in Chapter newsletter
- Research arthritis-related health and other issues and produce write ups for the constituents of the newsletters
- Conduct interviews with Chapter volunteers and constituents when necessary
- Work closely with the Community Development Managers to stay abreast of events within the
- Ensure newsletter is written and produced accurately and creatively; responsible for proofreading and editing
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years experience in copywriting or editing and/or newsletter production or similar experience
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent command of written English with an emphasis on clarity and creativity
- Great attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in the use of Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer and editing and imaging software
- Must be self motivated and able to meet tight deadlines
- Experience in a nonprofit or health industry preferred
- Must be located in Bay Area
Time Commitment:
- June 1st – September 1st
- One face to face meeting with Arthritis Foundation to discuss ideas and layout
- Meet weekly via phone with Community Development Manager to touch base and update on progress
Non Negotiable Fee: $2,000
