Workshops
$20,000 in scholarships to 10 Hispanic students majoring in journalism or communications. Applicants must reside in the Greater Houston Area and plan to attend, full-time, a community college or university within the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
Newspaper Association of America® Foundation Student/Newspaper Partnership Grants
These grants will provide seed money to help establish or revive student newspapers.
Society of Professional Journalists High School Essay Contest
SPJ wants to increase high school student's knowledge and understanding of the importance of the Free Media to our lives. National winners of this essay contest receive scholarship awards. All students enrolled in grades 9-12 are eligible.
826 Valencia Field Trips
826 Valencia is a fun and inspiring place to come with a group of students to work on writing. Our space is free and available to teachers in the Bay area, grades 1ñ12, for field trips of all kinds.
826 Valencia Scholarships
We provide two 826 Valencia Scholarships to be offered yearlyóawarded in the spring for students entering college the upcoming fall. There are the Young Authorís Scholarship and the Nathan Jillson Memorial Scholarship.

AAJA Convention
AAJA J-Camp
J Camp is a high school journalism program for gifted students of color. Applicants must be high school freshmen, sophomores or juniors available to travel to and stay for the six-day program.
AAJA Scholarships
Each year, the Asian American Journalists Association offers scholarships to outstanding high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students.
AAJA-SF Scholarships
The scholarship is to assist students with an interest in Asian Pacific American issues and journalism careers. Also it's to encourage students to present fair, accurate and sensitive coverage of Asian Pacific American topics and communities.
Acel Moore Minority Career Development Workshop
This program for high school minority students seeks to give them an introduction into the field of journalism. They are taught reporting, writing, editing and photography by editors. The program runs for four Saturdays in February at The Philadelphia Inq
AEJMC Convention
Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship and Conference Program
Annually awards $1,000 college scholarships to each of 102 high school seniors (a male and female from each state and the District of Columbia) who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism. Special award of $50,000 to top two students.
Arkansas Press Women High School Journalism Competition
Judged by journalists, the competition is an excellent opportunity for students to expose their work to professional eyes and get useful feedback from outside their usual school circle.
Ayn Rand Essay Contest
Ayn Rand (1905-1982) was an ardent advocate of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights and free-market capitalism. The essay contest offers $70,500 in prize money.
BAMMA '04

CCNMA San Diego Multi-Cultural Journalism Workshop
Students spend two weeks each summer at a journalism boot camp, guided by professional journalists in the classroom, but most importantly, out in the field. The students produce a newspaper, a television newscast and a radio newscast.

Columbia Scholastic Press Association Summer Journalism Workshop

Courage in Student Journalism Awards

David S. Barr Award

Ernest Hemingway Writing Awards for High School Journalists
Entries will be judged in four areas: Feature Writing, News Writing (emphasis on breaking news or the presentation of new information), Sports Writing and Commentary (includes editorials and signed columns). $2,000 for first prize.
Exito Escolar Scholarship Awards
