Intern Position: Social Media and Communications Intern

The Women's Building (TWB) is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-service center for women and girls. Our mission is to provide women and girls with the tools and resources they need to achieve full and equal participation in society. We are a community center with meeting spaces and we are home to a variety of non-profit organizations. Additionally, we offer a wide variety of programs around family economic success so that women and girls can follow their dreams. Hours: 1-4 hours per week

Compensation: Unpaid Internship with stipend

Supervisor: Community Programs Director

Responsibilities include:

· Manage TWB Facebook account – responsibilities include increasing network contacts, daily status updates and community engagement

· Develop and write Web site content (you will NOT need to do the actual web design)

· Create and build Twitter accounts – responsibilities include engaging status updates and building followers

· Media monitoring – responsibilities include staying up to date with current Women’s issues for content creation purposes

· Attending and writing about assigned events

· Create a system for renters to submit photos and comments

· Additional admin responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience in social media and communications work

Creativity, initiative, and project management skills

Commitment to social justice

Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
