Bill King College Scholarship
Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded. Sophomores, juniors and seniors majoring in journalism or broadcasting at an SF Bay Area college or university are eligible. Download the PDF here. Application deadline is March 15, 2007.
Latino College Dollars
Scholarships are free money that is available to off-set the cost of school. Students have to apply for scholarships, which are awarded on a case-by-case basis, often based on merit. If a student receives a scholarship, it does not have to be paid back.

Maria Elena Yuchengco Memorial Journalism Scholarship

Barnes Scholarship

NAJA Scholarships
Each year NAJA offer scholarships ranging from $500-$5,000 to Native American students pursuing journalism degrees at a higher learning institution. To apply, students must be current paid members.
Lilly Scholarships in Religion for Journalists
Twenty journalists will receive scholarships for up to $5,000 each to study religion at any accredited college, university or seminary. Scholarships cover expenses including tuition, registration fees and books.
Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals Scholarships
$20,000 in scholarships to 10 Hispanic students majoring in journalism or communications. Applicants must reside in the Greater Houston Area and plan to attend, full-time, a community college or university within the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
CNPA Campus Equipment Grants
The CNPA Foundation offers Campus Newspaper Equipment grants each spring for CNPA-member campus newspapers to upgrade their newspaper production equipment. CNPA's high school and college member newspapers may apply.
JEA/NSPA Scholarships

Bay Area STAR (Society for Television, Advertising & Radio) Scholarships
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
Received a Bay Area STAR Outstanding Intern award. Maintained a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average and at least a 3.0 in their major for the school year, etc.
Banatao Filipino American Education Fund College Scholarship
The Banatao Filipino American Education Fund will award five scholarships of $5,000 to qualified high school seniors who will enroll at 4-year colleges or universities. Each scholarship is renewable up to three years.
Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship Award
The estimated $5,000 scholarship award will be granted to an LGBT student who plans a career in journalism and is committed to furthering NLGJA’s mission of fair and accurate coverage of the LGBT community.
SFSU's Robert Westwood Scholarship
To assist SFSU students who are living with HIV and plan to make a contribution to communities affected by HIV. Contributions can be in any field, including: the arts, health sciences, social services, etc. One $3,000 scholarship will be awarded.
Harvard Scholarships
Beginning with the 2004-05 year, parents in families with incomes of less than $40,000 will no longer be expected to contribute to the cost of attending Harvard for their children.

This scholarship has been established by the National Broadcasting Company to honor television photojournalist Bob Brown, who was killed in November 1978 while on assignment in Guyana.
Frank McCulloch Investigative Reporting Scholarship
This scholarship is open to upper division SFSU undergraduate journalism majors and pays $500 to $1,000 per investigative project.
John and Douglas Fang Memorial Scholarship
