Chips Quinn Scholars program

 
Spring/Summer 2011 paid internships at the Associated Press and in newsrooms across the U.S.  The Chips Quinn Scholars program provides training, internships and a $500 housing stipend to college students and recent graduates who are pursuing careers in journalism.  Nominees must be majoring or minoring in journalism or have firmly demonstrated an interest in journalism as a career.  Nominees must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents.  Selected Scholars participate in a nine-day orientation/multimedia training in preparation for their internship experiences.  New newsroom hires, who have not yet mastered multimedia training, are also eligible to apply for a spot in our program IF their employer will allow them the time out of the newsroom to participate in the training.  For more information and the 2011 application:  www.diversityinstitute.org" TARGET="_blank">http://www.diversityinstitute.org">www.diversityinstitute.org.  Deadline to apply:  Oct. 15, 2010
