SF Weekly Internship
contact KEITH BOWERS
This position is mostly data-entry with the opportunity to write preview items online and in
print. The educational value will come in numerous ways: getting to know the
various sectors of arts and culture in San Francisco through collection of data,
learning a complex web content management system through entry of the data, and
learning to write pieces for print and online. The areas of focus include theater, literary events, visual art, dance, performance art, film, comedy, sex and sexuality, LGBT events, crafts, DIY classes and events, some sports, and the occasional music and food happening. The intern will be asked to write
a number of test items not for publication. Depending on the results of this, he
or she will be asked to write a number of items for publication. Eventually this
could lead to a paid freelance arrangement for print and online. All the above
items will be subject to extensive editing and adherence to an in-house style
guide. The position will require 12 to 15 hours per week. It will earn three
credits over the course of the spring 2011 semester. Send a cover letter and resume to
