We are offering internship opportunities for students who are interested in hands on video and web production training.

 

Our company is called ABS CBN International and it operates The Filipino Channel (TFC).  TFC airs nationally on Direct TV, Comcast, RCN and Cox Cable.   We serve over 200,000 Filipino and Filipino-American subscribers viewing Tagalog-language premium programming services in North America. 

 

Our daily 30-minute English language newscast is called 'Balitang America.'   Produced in Redwood Shores, California, it has been the reliable resource of Filipinos in the US and Canada for news stories, events, special reports and in-depth interviews.  

 

We offer interns the opportunity to:

            -assist with the production of the newscast, which includes tasks like teleprompter operation, script running and production coordination

            -assists with news gathering

            -assist with web updates and web production

            -assist with administrative tasks like maintaining ad schedules and coordinating production meetings

 

These internship opportunities are not paid. 

 

Additional Information

·      -20 hours / week with the potential to increase to full time during the summer

·      -Class credit offered

·      -Work out of our office in Redwood Shores, CA

 

Skills required: 

-Basic understanding and interest in traditional and new media journalism.

-Must be internet savvy

-Must be proactive and have a good attitude
