Fall Editorial Intern

The Rundown, a men's lifestyle website and daily email is seeking an Editorial Intern for its San Francisco section. The internship is unpaid but school credit can be received if desired.

The ideal candidate is a  Journalism or Communications major with at least a year of studies under their belt. He/she will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and have a creative and energetic outlook. It would be ideal if he/she has already taken a Reporting-1-style class, so he/she understands the basics. It's important that this person understand the basic tenets of newsworthiness, as our San Francisco editor plans to utilize them heavily on the reporting end (i.e. finding events to cover, networking with publicists, etc.).  This is not a fluff internship. The Editorial Intern will walk away having actually used the knowledge he or she has gleaned in the classroom. Talented writers will also have the opportunity to be published.

The intern will be working from home for about 10 hours per week with informal, bi-weekly meetings in a central location where he/she and the San Francisco editor can have a coffee and track progress, brainstorm, and clarify any questions.

If interested please send resumes and cover letters to Katie Suarez, Editorial Assistant at The Rundown at ksuarez@rundown.com.
