Bleacher Report is one of the five largest sports media sites on the Web and one of the most exciting startups in San Francisco. We are a venture-backed media company on the forefront of the evolution taking place in digital publishing. We are also extremely passionate about sports and creating a new paradigm that allows thousands of people to create great sports content around the teams and topics they too are passionate about.
Position
- Work on recruitment and retention of Guest Columnists.
- Targeting and contacting celebrities, athletes, politicians, authors and others who would make good guest writers for Bleacher Report.
- Working with Guest Columnists once they've agreed to write, including editing and coaching them on use of Bleacher Report's CMS.
- Commitment of 15 hours per week, working in Bleacher Report's San Francisco office (preferred) or remotely.
Requirements
- Knowledge of sports.
- Strong writer and editor with experience in an editing role (section editor, copy chief, etc. at college newspaper/website, for example).
- Understanding of SEO and an editorial calendar.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently on deadline.
- Comfortable talking to strangers who might be celebrities.
