California Nurse Association seeks Editorial Intern

California Nurse Magazine not only covers the Association's activities but strives to produce hard-hitting news features and thoughtful analyses of nursing and the real ills plaguing the U.S. healthcare system.

With coaching from the editor, the intern will report and write both assigned and self-generated news articles, as well as help research and fact-check other stories. Interns are also expected to produce one longer feature story showcasing their best reporting and writing.

Skills: Must have solid command of newswriting and be familiar with magazine style. Must have knowledge of or keen interest in healthcare and labor issues. Must want to contribute to securing a more just and humane U.S. healthcare system.

Looking for someone who is already comfortable writing spot news and is interested in getting more sophisticated clips/magazine writing experience.
The position is unpaid and part time, 16 to 20 hours per week, for three to four months.
