Gainesville Sun Photography internship
Candidates must have previous daily newspaper experience and a well- rounded, tightly-edited portfolio. Experience shooting sports with long glass is a requirement since this internship includes Florida Gator football coverage.
We also do location lighting on a daily basis, so proficiency with multiple light location shooting is a definite plus. We are a team of talented, technically strong photojournalists and need an intern with advanced skills who can step in and be productive from the start.
We cover spot news, lots of sports, standalone centerpieces and picture stories. We emphasize sports photography through heavy coverage of area preps, University of Florida sports, NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and many other high profile events. We also produce Gainesville Magazine, an award-winning glossy featuring well-lit location shoots on fashion, architecture and interesting people. Home to the University of Florida, Gainesville is a cosmopolitan city with strong appeal to younger persons as well as a great city in which to live.
Pay is $400 a week plus mileage reimbursement. The Sun supplies Canon digital cameras, accessories, long glass, laptop computer, mileage and cell phone reimbursement.
Candidates must furnish reliable transportation, intermediate lenses and plenty of energy and enthusiasm. The Sun is an equal opportunity employer. Send a Macintosh format CD portfolio of 25 or fewer images, resume with references to:
