NASW Mentoring Program Travel Stipends
Offering as many as 10 undergraduate students interested in science journalism up to $1000 in travel expenses to attend the AAAS 2007 meeting in San Francisco from February 15-19, 2007. Deadline is December 11, 2006.
CNPA Foundation offers Desktop Publishing Training Grants
Training grants of $200 to learn more about desktop publishing are available to California high school newspaper advisers through the CNPA Foundation.
CNPA Internship Grants
Up to eight $1,500 grants are available for college students interested in newspaper journalism careers, and up to two $1,500 grants for students pursuing careers in newspaper advertising or marketing. Students must obtain their own internships.
National Geographic Magazine Photography Grant
National Geographic magazine will award an annual grant of $50,000 to a professional still photographer. In addition to the grant, NGM will assign a magazine photography editor to provide guidance for a project undertaken by the grantee.

Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting – Travel Grants
The Pulitzer Center funds travel costs associated with reporting projects on topics and regions of global importance, with an emphasis on issues that have gone unreported or under-reported in the mainstream American media.
SPJ Diversity Leadership Grants
Grantees receive leadership training, mentoring by SPJ leaders, and travel and registration for the SPJ convention. Candidates will be selected on the basis of leadership potential and current activities with SPJ.
SPJ Legal Defense Fund
The Society of Professional Journalists collects and distributes contributions for aiding journalists in defending the freedom of speech and press guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Newspaper Association of America® Foundation Student/Newspaper Partnership Grants
These grants will provide seed money to help establish or revive student newspapers.
