Citysearch San Francisco is Seeking an Intern

 
Citysearch San Francisco is seeking an intern for the spring semester to work out of its San Francisco field office (located two blocks from the Civic Center BART stop). This internship is unpaid, and only applicants receiving college course credit will be considered. Applicants must be available 15 hours per week during regular business hours (no nights, no weekends).

Responsibilities:
>>Enter new event and business listings and write profiles; fact check new and existing listings.
>>Research and update current editorial reviews; phone reporting is necessary.
>>Write profiles for bars, restaurants, shops, spas, hotels and other businesses.
>>Conduct online and print research.
>>Take part in in-house writing and editing workshops.
>>Formulate and create a final project, most likely a feature roundup for the San Francisco site.

Learning objectives:
>>Become versed in the fundamentals of service journalism.
>>Conduct thorough online and print research.
>>Write and edit compelling/concise copy according to AP style, Citysearch voice and industry standards.
>>Help shape editorial coverage based on audience interests.
>>Complete projects within specified deadlines.
>>Master various online publication tools and computer software programs.
>>Work on a collaborative editorial team and contribute to overall editorial strategy.
