CIIJ Hiring A High School Program Coordinator

Description: Coordinate, plan and recruit for the five youth-targeted journalism projects of CIIJ (described on our website at http://www.ciij.org). This includes networking with journalism advisers, classroom presentations, scheduling journalists for school presentations and overseeing two student coaches. The position is for 20 hours per week and has excellent benefits. Wage is $18.00 per hour (Note: position is guaranteed for one year only).

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong writing and editing
• Macintosh operating system
• Microsoft Word and Excel
• Very organized
• Enjoys working with youth
• Types 40 wpm

Preferred Skills:
• Journalism experience
• Knowledge of high school journalism programs
• InDesign
• Ability to work with diverse groups of professionals, educators, and students
